Tracy Yerrell is an eco-designer who works under the label of Bat-Fish Studio. Started in 2014 to address the ongoing problem of textile waste, everything produced from Bat-Fish Studio is made using reclaimed & repurposed materials that otherwise would have ended up in landfills. Textile waste is currently of the largest pollutants on the planet. Bat-Fish Studio is committed to using these materials as a starting point. From hand-embroidered tablecloths to discarded men's shirts, forgotten textiles in attics to dead stock from the upholstery industry, fabric is fabric. By forging new concepts in the world of up-cycling & through creative vision and ingenuity, we can give these materials a new lease on life. As an eco-designer, it's important to showcase the beauty that can be found in reclaimed and repurposed materials. By up-cycling and reworking these components, we can produce unique and sustainable one-of-a-kind fashion pieces.

Kathryn Choquer is the Creative Director at M'eco Wear, based in Vancouver, BC. M'eco is an apparel line made with future-forwarding fabrics for humans who identify as female.
Her journey into sustainable fashion started in 2009. While surfing in L.A. she noticed plastic and garbage on the beach as well as in the ocean. She happened to be attending fashion design school at the time, and decided it was time to become part of the solution. Kathryn works with wool, cotton, linen, and recycled polyester. She uses a modern dress form made by Alva to improve the experience of how clothes fit. She is inspired by the future of technology and how humanity will evolve to create a brighter world. www.mecowear.com |

Upcycle Clothing Collective is a Consignment and Quality goods shop located in downtown Victoria BC. Our mission at the heart of our organization is to create a safe and welcoming space where individuals of all backgrounds can confidently shop for second-hand fashion pieces, free from the constraints and stereotypes that the fashion industry often reinforces. We believe in the transformative power of fashion as a medium for self-expression, and we want to make that accessible to everyone, regardless of their identity. By choosing to support us, you are not just purchasing a piece of clothing - you are fostering a more inclusive, diverse, and accepting fashion community. You are contributing to a movement that values individuality and sustainability over fast fashion and exclusivity. Together, we can redefine what fashion means in our society.
